Last week’s Monday Morning Diary miss was regrettable, but the rush to get Mikey’s Absolution correctly formatted caused daily chaos. The book was uploaded to Amazon’s KDP on Wednesday, so the current five-day wait has held the publication up much longer than expected. Usually, KDP approves the uploading within 24 hours. I hope the publication will be hours or a few days away.
Thank you, Duane Porter and Lee Price, for making Wonders in the Dark a fascinating site over the past weeks. Lee’s continued exploration of Kenji Mizoguchi’s 1954 masterpiece Sansho the Bailiff and Duane’s enthralling list of the best films of 2023 are among the most accomplished posts we’ve ever had the honor of staging.
Lucille, a few of our kids, and Yours Truly have been hopping all over New York City and New Jersey to see the year-end film crop in our annual quest to see what needs to be watched before the Best Films of the Year list can be posted. Since the last MMD two weeks ago, we have seen ten (10) 2024 films. My five-ratings are as follows:
